Story
A drink called Cosmopolitan appears in the 1934 book Pioneers of Mixing at Elite Bars, made with gin, Cointreau, lemon and raspberry syrup. It has nothing to do with the vodka-cranberry version beyond the name, but it shows the pink sour was already an idea in the 1930s.
