Aperol Spritz cocktail

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Aperol
  • 3 oz Prosecco
  • 1 oz Soda Water
  • 1 piece Orange Peel

Method

  1. Build over ice in a wine glass.
  2. Add Aperol, prosecco, then soda.
  3. Stir gently and garnish with orange.

Story

The spritz began when Austro-Hungarian soldiers in the Veneto asked for a splash, 'spritz', of water in the local wine. Aperol arrived in Padua in 1919, and the 3-2-1 recipe with Prosecco and soda was an Aperol marketing formula from the 1950s that took over the world in the 2010s.
