Bijou
A stirred cocktail featuring Gin, Sweet Vermouth, Green Chartreuse.
Ingredients
- 45 ml Gin
- 30 ml Sweet Vermouth
- 22.5 ml Green Chartreuse
- 2 dash Orange Bitters
Method
- Combine Gin, Sweet Vermouth, Green Chartreuse and Orange Bitters in a mixing glass with ice.
- Stir until cold and diluted.
- Strain into a chilled Nick & Nora glass.
- Optional garnish: Maraschino Liqueur cherry.
Story
Harry Johnson's 1890s recipe, named 'jewel' because the ingredients were meant to stand for gems: gin for diamond, vermouth for ruby, green Chartreuse for emerald.
