Boothby
A stirred cocktail featuring Rye whiskey, Sweet Vermouth, Orange bitters.
Ingredients
- 2 oz Rye Whiskey
- 1 oz Sweet Vermouth
- 2 dash Orange Bitters
- 1 dash Angostura Aromatic Bitters
- 1 oz Sparkling wine
Method
- Combine Rye Whiskey, Sweet Vermouth, Orange Bitters and Angostura aromatic bitters in a mixing glass with ice.
- Stir until cold and diluted.
- Strain into a coupe over fresh ice.
- Add Sparkling wine last and stir gently to combine.
- Optional garnish: skewered Maraschino Liqueur cherry.

William 'Cocktail Bill' Boothby, a San Francisco bartender and author, put a float of champagne on a Manhattan in the early 1900s.
