- 0.25 oz Simple Syrup
- 1 oz Espresso
Method

- Add the vodka, coffee liqueur, syrup, and espresso to a shaker.
- Add ice and shake hard until cold and foamy.
- Double-strain into a chilled cocktail glass and serve immediately.
Story
Dick Bradsell created it at the Soho Brasserie in London in 1983 for a customer who asked for something that would wake her up and then, in her words, mess her up. It was first called the Vodka Espresso; the Martini name came with the 1990s glassware.
Tips
- Shake hard and fast with fresh espresso; the crema is what makes the foam.
