Gibson
A stirred cocktail featuring Gin, Dry Vermouth.
Ingredients
- 2.5 oz Gin
- 1 oz Dry Vermouth
Method
- Combine Gin and Dry Vermouth in a mixing glass with ice.
- Stir until cold and diluted.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
- Optional garnish: pickled pearl onion.
Story
A Martini with a cocktail onion. Claimed by the illustrator Charles Dana Gibson, who asked for something different at the Players Club, and by Walter D.K. Gibson, who believed onions prevented colds. Nobody knows which.
