KIR

A built cocktail featuring White wine, Crème de cassis.

KIR cocktail

Ingredients

  • 90 ml White wine
  • 10 ml Crème de cassis

Method

  1. Chill the white wine and a wine glass.
  2. Pour the crème de cassis into the glass and add the wine.
  3. Stir gently and serve without ice. For Kir Royal, substitute chilled Champagne for the white wine.

Story

Named after Canon Félix Kir, mayor of Dijon after the Second World War, who served the local crème de cassis with Bourgogne aligoté at official receptions to promote both.
