Cocktail recipe
Margarita
Tequila, citrus, and orange liqueur.

Ingredients
- 2 oz Tequila Blanco
- 1 oz Triple Sec
- 0.75 oz Lime Juice
- 1 dash Salt
Method
- If using the salt rim, moisten the rim with lime and dip it in salt before mixing.
- Shake the tequila, triple sec, and lime juice with ice until cold.
- Strain into the prepared coupe without ice, or into a rocks glass over fresh ice.
Story
Nobody agrees on who made the first one; claims range from Carlos 'Danny' Herrera in Tijuana in 1938 to Dallas socialite Margarita Sames in 1948. The simplest explanation is that it is a tequila version of the Daisy, an old sour with orange liqueur, and 'margarita' is Spanish for daisy.
