Method

Add vodka and lime juice to a mug with ice.
Top with ginger beer and stir briefly.
Garnish with lime wheel.

Story

Created in 1941 in Los Angeles when John Martin, who had bought the struggling Smirnoff brand, met Jack Morgan, owner of the Cock 'n' Bull pub and an unsold stock of ginger beer. The copper mug was part of the marketing, and the drink helped make vodka an American spirit.
