Negroni Sbagliato cocktail

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Campari
  • 1 oz Sweet Vermouth
  • 2 oz Prosecco
  • 1 piece Orange Peel

Method

  1. Build over ice in a rocks glass.
  2. Add Campari, vermouth, then prosecco.
  3. Stir briefly and garnish.

Story

At Bar Basso in Milan in 1972, bartender Mirko Stocchetto reached for the wrong bottle while making a Negroni and topped it with sparkling wine instead of gin. Sbagliato means 'mistaken'. The mistake stuck, and fifty years later, in 2022, a viral interview clip made it the most ordered drink of the summer.
