Paper Plane
Equal-parts modern bitter sour.
Ingredients
- 0.75 oz Bourbon Whiskey
- 0.75 oz Aperol
- 0.75 oz Amaro Nonino
- 0.75 oz Lemon Juice
Method
- Shake all ingredients with ice.
- Double strain into a chilled coupe.
- Serve without garnish.
Story
Sam Ross created it in 2008 for the opening of The Violet Hour in Chicago, naming it after M.I.A.'s song Paper Planes. The first version used Campari; he switched to Aperol almost immediately.
