Story
Joe Sheridan, chef at the Foynes flying-boat terminal in Ireland, made it in 1943 to warm passengers on a turned-back transatlantic flight. Travel writer Stanton Delaplane brought it to San Francisco's Buena Vista Café in 1952, which still serves thousands a day.
