Ingredients: 2 oz Gin; 1 oz Lemon Juice; 0.75 oz Simple Syrup; 2 oz Soda Water; 1 piece Lemon Twist

Citrus gin fizz style highball.

Ingredients

2 oz Gin
1 oz Lemon Juice
0.75 oz Simple Syrup
2 oz Soda Water
1 piece Lemon Twist

Method

Shake gin, lemon, and syrup with ice.
Strain into a Collins glass over fresh ice.
Top with soda and garnish.

Story

Jerry Thomas printed it in 1876, but the name comes from the Great Tom Collins Hoax of 1874, when New Yorkers were told that a man named Tom Collins was slandering them in a nearby bar and sent off to find him.
